Job Description
The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent knowledge and experience in the use of tandoori ovens, as well as the ability to prepare high-quality tandoori dishes. This includes slicing, chopping, and marinating chicken, meat, and vegetables based on customer preferences, as well as cooking popular tandoori dishes such as Tikka, Shashlik, and more from raw ingredients.
Additionally, the candidate must be proficient in preparing dough for nan, rotis, and other traditional Indian bread, while following instructions from the head chef for recipe and presentation. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and adhering to all food safety regulations is essential to ensure a safe and healthy cooking environment.
Working closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service is also an important aspect of this role. The candidate must be able to cook traditional Indian dishes and prepare the order for tandoori stock while informing the head chef of any shortages or needs. The working hours for this position are 39 hours per week.
